暗藏式闭门器，是将自动门闭门器镶嵌于门扇的框内。当活动扇关闭时，将完全看不见闭门器。这种闭门器的关键规格是闭门器的厚度，这关系到门扇的厚度。目前，世界上最薄的暗藏式闭门器仅仅只有28mm，一般厚度的活动扇都可以安装。此类闭门器的安装，会破坏到活动扇的框，不能用于当做防火门。
